'Wager' on the NFL Draft at BetCharlesJay.com -- Oddsmaker Charles Jay Offers Huge Buffet of Draft Odds Once Again
Hollywood, FL (PRWEB) April 25, 2008 -- Jake Long may be already signed, sealed and delivered as the #1 pick in the NFL Draft, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of scenarios to speculate on.
Charles Jay asks, will the "other" Long be at the tail end of the draft? No, not Chris Long of Virginia, but Gabe Long of Utah.
That's part of just one of the multitude of draft propositions available from the free sportsbook/casino, BetCharlesJay.com (http://www.betcharlesjay.com).
Jay, who supplies odds for every major event included within the realms of sports, entertainment, politics, world affairs, pop culture and more, and has done so from time-to-time for leading online sportsbooks, will have more props than anywhere else on the NFL Draft, which emanates from New York and begins Saturday (April 26) at 3 PM ET
Jay has set forth a number of draft propositions which are currently posted at BetCharlesJay. There are plenty of two-way comparisons as to which player will be drafted higher. For example, Arkansas running back Felix Jones, who shared the backfield with Darren McFadden this past season, is a -165 favorite over Kansas defensive back Aqib Talib, who may go in the first round but has some off-the-field issues. Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall is favored by 5.5 draft places over another Big Ten star, Michigan State wide receiver Devin Thomas. Thomas is the favorite at the moment to be the first wide receiver taken.
Defensive players taken in the first round are slightly favored (by -110, or 10/11 odds) over offensive players. How many cornerbacks will get the call throughout the first round? You'd get basically a pick'em proposition (-110 either way) on the over/under of four and a half.
And then of course, there are Jay's patented "special" props. The "Jackson Pollak" prop will pay off at 11/10 odds (+110) if USC's Lawrence Jackson and Arizona State's Mike Pollak are not both drafted within the first 50 picks. The "No Choice" prop pays 3/2 (+150) if the first three rounds go by without Georgia Tech Tashard Choice being taken. The "Oliver-Hardy" prop requires that Indiana wide receiver James Hardy and Adamm Oliver, a Georgia Tech defensive end are drafted by the same team, and offers a 40/1 payout. The "Hanging Chad" prop is a 7/2 shot (+350) that quarterback Chad Henne of Michigan will not be drafted on the first day (i.e., rounds 1-2) and Chad Johnson will not be traded by the Cincinnati Bengals by the end of that day either.
In the "Studebaker-Dotson" prop, linebacker Andy Studebaker of Wheaton College and defensive tackle Lionel Dotson of Arizona must be taken by the same NFL club. "We couldn't find any Edsels," says Jay. And the "Long Weekend" prop will pay 500/1 if the aforementioned Gabe Long, a defensive tackle from Utah, is the last choice in the draft, complementing new Dolphin Jake Long (the #1).
"I don't know how fans are going to react to my 'Get Me Some Raid' prop," Jay says, "but they'll just have to come to the website to find out. I hope they do."
